Abbot of Wat Phradhatu Sri Chomtong Voravihara
The Late Most Venerable Phra Prom Mongkol Vi (Ven. Ajarn Tong Sirimangalo)
Ajarn Tong was the abbot and head of the Vipassana Insight Meditation Center in Wat Phradhatu Sri Chomtong Voravihara, Chiang Mai Province, from 1991 until his death on December 13, 2019.
The Late Most Venerable Phra Prom Mongkol Vi devoted his entire life to the practice and dissemination of Vipassana meditation, and he remains one of the most highly revered Vipassana teachers in Thailand.
Widely known for his impeccable behavior and exceptional teaching, he was officially recognized as the Leading Teacher of Vipassana Meditation by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, Rama X in 2017.
In March 2011, the Venerable Phra Prom Mongkol Vi received the venerable title of Agga Maha Kammatthana Cariya (monk of the highest level of Vipassana Meditation) from the Government of Myanmar.

Ajarn Thanat Chindaporn
Has been studying Vipassana since the mid-1980s.
In 2004, Ajarn Thanat received the Royal Sema Dhammacakka Award and Benefactor of Buddhism Award ("Benefactor of Buddhism in Thailand") from Chiang Mai Province in recognition of his work in the dissemination of Buddhism
As the head of the International Center, Ajarn Thanat led the training of Vipassana teachers and meditators around the world.
Ajarn Thanat died on March 31, 2022 at the age of 80.
His kindness, wisdom, and outstanding generosity helped thousands of people.
We are deeply grateful for his life, for his absolute dedication to the creation and development of the International Center at the Chomtong Monastery, and for sharing the supreme gift of the Dhamma with many.

Ajarn Kathryn Chindaporn
Has been studying Vipassana since 1986.
Since 1989, Ajarn Kathryn has been translating Thai Meditation teachers; she has published many works, including five Thai-English Buddhist dictionaries and appeared as a guest speaker on Thai, Mexican and American television and radio.
In 2000, Ajarn Kathryn received the Benefactor of Buddhism Award ("Benefactor of Buddhism in Thailand") from Chiang Mai Province and the Sema Dhammacakka Award in Recognition of International Dissemination of Buddhism, which was presented to her by her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand.
Ajarn Kathryn previously taught Buddhism at Chiang Mai University, and now is the head teacher and director of the Northern Vipassana International Meditation Center at the Temple in Chomtong.
